Arendse says “This mosaic is a tribute to the Byzantine area as we owe these old mosaic masters and glass makers so much. The smalti and gold leaf smalti is still produced in the same way as they did it 1600 years ago: handmade, with a fantastic shine and the most incredible reflective properties. Have a look at the images below. It is obviously the same mosaic but one in lit by the sun, one is shot in a dimmer light. Notice how the smalti on the picture with the dimmer light is almost as reflective as the gold. The twinkle of Venetian smalti and gold leaf smalti is immaculate.
If you are into Feng Shui this is a mosaic that should go in the south of your home. The stars, the red and the gold belongs to the sun and the south and the tree supports the fire energy here.
